I was born in rural Minnesota, the youngest of seven children growing up on a small dairy farm. During high school, I spent a year in New ZeaIand as an exchange student. I took an unconventional path to the arts. First, I studied studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After receiving a Master’s Degree in Science from the University of Wisconsin, I subsequently moved to Miami, Denmark, Germany, and finally to Arizona with my Air Force husband. After moving to Phoenix, I started taking painting and drawing classes as well as Studio Art classes at the Maricopa Community Colleges. I just finished three years as a member of the Eye Lounge Artist Collective. I currently am the co-curator at First Studio in Phoenix.
